I also know that diets and restrictions are not a long term approach.

It can be hard following a diet or other trying to imitate someone else’s success. That’s not the weigh to win!
Let’s face it; losing weight is hard. If it were easy, no one would struggle with managing their weight.
But you can get off the dieting treadmill and instead support your body towards optimal health and weight. I’ll work with you to create personalised, easy-to-follow nutrition and health strategies which are built around you, your lifestyle, and your preferences.

As your coach I will I encourage, inspire and motivate you while holding you accountable. Let’s face it… Most of us know what we should be doing but the consistent application of that knowledge is often the hardest part. That’s where I come in.
I’m Susan!
As a young woman, I struggled with insecurities. I felt like I was never thin enough, pretty enough, or worthy enough. Even as a young mum and new wife, much of my energy was spent chasing or wishing for a number on the scale or counting calories. After 20+ years of wishing my body looked differently, I’m at a place where I don’t compare myself to others, I don’t restrict my food and I don’t thrash myself with exercise. I finally have a healthy, satisfying relationship with food – something I never thought I’d have. That’s why my passion is in sharing what I’ve learned and in supporting women as they nourish their body and mind and in turn, they teach those around them how to have a healthy relationship with food, movement and activity and their own body.
I love to help women manage their weight and live their best life! I’m passionate about using a holistic, sensible approach to weight management which focuses on realistic mindset, nourishing foods, natural movement and healthy lifestyle factors.
The Nourish’d Way is based on science, nutrition & exercise facts, with a healthy dose of real life experience. Like many women, I’ve tried my fair share of diets and exercise programs over the years. I’ve also done lots of research and study that led me to creating Nourish and Flourish.
The Nourish’d Way empowers women to look and feel their best with simple, real food and everyday habits along with other key principles necessary for optimal health.
There are often other factors that are preventing us from feeling our best. Sometimes it’s nutrition, our mindset or other barriers. Eating nourishing foods is super important in regaining your health but it is only one part of the bigger picture. You are more than just a body, you are a whole person so we address you as a whole person. Sure, we focus on food all the while combining all areas that make up your total health. Things such as emotional triggers, attitude and mindset, general activity and healthy lifestyle habits are all vital to your overall health and wellbeing.
No calorie counting, no detox tea’s or cleanses, no hunger, deprivation or rigid rules. And no crazy exercise workouts, unless you want to.
It’s creating healthy habits that work for you, and then doing them consistently which will establish a healthier way of life!

Mindset
Mindset is a way of thinking, often a habitual and unconscious thought process that governs our responses and actions. Many times our mindset works against us and we need to examine it and renew our mindset.
Movement
Not busting a blood vessel at the gym nor running a marathon (unless you love doing those things!) but we will gently work on increasing all your movement. Things like standing up and sitting down, housework, gardening, shopping, even breathing! All done at your pace.
Meals
We all like to eat yummy food. Together we’ll discover how you can eat great food in a way that helps you to meet your budget, time, health and weight goals. There are no one-size-fits-all eating plans here. Rather, when we fuel our body properly our cravings and hunger levels diminish, allowing you opportunity to nourish your body.
Accountability
I’m not your mum nor your boss. I’m certainly not your drill seargeant. You don’t need to feel guilt, shame or embarassment with me. That’s not my job. I will remind you of your goals and offer guidance and tips whenever you need.
Rest & Refresh
The female metabolism is highly sensitive towards the effects of stress. When we’re stressed, our body releases the stress-hormone cortisol which can negatively affect sleep, your mood, impair thyroid function and slow metabolism as well as contributing to an increased appetite, cravings and weight gain. This is why we will focus on rest, recovery and refreshing activities.
Meaning
You are more than your body, more than a clothes size. Yes, you may be a wife and a mama but you are also a woman who wears many hats and therefore has many needs. The need for social connection, for purpose & meaning, for intellectual stimulation, for self care and more.
